本書作者走訪友恭學校、達德學校、壆圍公立學校、長洲公立學校等十三所廢校現場，撰寫遊記，輔以攝影、在地歷史背景，將昔日的村校具象於讀者眼前。從斑駁課室、殘留校訓、舊門牌獎盃，到村落宗族、古蹟與舊生回憶，重構香港村校的興衰軌跡，為那些即將消失或已成遺址的校園，留下一份有溫度的記憶。

作者簡介

梁淑蘭Zoe Leung
香港大學文學學士，主修英文、副修日文，畢業後負笈日本名古屋大學修讀日文，香港中文大學翻譯文學碩士。在數家外資公司從事市場營銷和文字相關工作多年後自立門戶，工作之餘亦能兼顧家庭和興趣。
疫情期間，因緣際會下開始探索廢墟，並在二○二一年八月開設「隨心影匠 Leisure Photography」專頁， 主要記錄香港的廢墟和古蹟，亦涉獵其他國家和地區的建築等題材，以文字和影像作一份記錄。
