中國歷史源遠流長，文獻典籍卷帙浩，本書嘗試為現代人編寫簡明扼要的國學知識讀物。本書以中國傳統學術的內容為基礎，並根據現代學科的譜系作出規劃，將兩者有系統地結合起來，構築新的中華國學。全書內容共分十章，第一章是國學的總論，為現代人研究國學的指導綱領；第二至五章是國學的內學，即經、史、子、集的現代詮釋；第六至九章是國學的外學，即中國的經世之學；第十章是國學的延伸，說明這門學問通向外國以至全世界的途徑。讀畢本書，能對中華國學的精粹有扼要的理解。

編譯者簡介
周佳榮，香港中文大學新亞書院歷史系畢業，香港大學哲學博士； 曾留學日本， 專攻東亞歷史、明清學術史及近代中國思想史。任教香港浸會大學歷史系多年， 講授「中國文化： 傳承與變遷」、「北宋史家與詩人」、「明清史」、「明清小說與中國社會」、「中國近三百年學術史」、「近代中國思潮」等科。現為香港浸會大學歷史系榮休教授及近代史研究中心高級研究員、新亞研究所亞太研究中心主任、特聘教授及導師。
