本書初版於2012 年出版，藉回顧香港鐵路過往逾百年歷史，記載了香港經濟、社會變遷及集體運輸系統中各種交通工具的相互影響，為香港寫下重要的歷史篇章。


近年來，香港鐵路發展一日千里，多項大型基建工程先後落成。作者重新修訂本書，補充多項近期發掘的史料與圖片，以及近年的鐵路工程細節與後續發展，如高鐵最新發展、東鐵綫過海延伸至港島等等，進一步勾畫出香港鐵路的未來發展藍圖。


本書第三版除增加了近年香港鐵路發展概況外，更重要是讓讀者反思未來鐵路的發展方向，除扣連本地民生外，更如何進一步連接國家鐵路的脈絡。




作者簡介


陳志華

 土生土長的香港人，曾任中國歷史教育學會副主 席，現任香港通識教育會副會長等職。長期專注本 土歷史、風俗文化研究，經常在報章發表有關香港 歷史的文章，曾接受報章、電台、電視台的訪問， 以及擔任香港歷史講座講者和香港歷史古蹟考察導 賞員等。主要著作有《香港古蹟考察指南》、《香 港歷史之謎》、《趣談香港街道》、《追尋香港古 蹟》、《漫遊九龍屋邨》、《香港巴士 90 年》、《香 港巴士 百年蛻變》、《香港海上交通 170 年》等。


李健信

自小在香港長大，閒時愛手執地圖，走遍香港大街 小巷，四處遊歷搜影，對研究香港交通的歷史演變 有濃厚興趣。多年來，曾擔任香港歷史講座之講者， 並先後為《汽車雜誌》、Hot Machine 、Anycar 等 多本汽車雜誌撰寫專題文章及拍攝相片。主要著作 有《趣談香港街道》系列、《追尋香港古蹟》系列、 《漫遊香港屋邨》系列、《香港巴士 90 年》、《香 港巴士 百年蛻變》、《香港鐵路 100 年》、《香 港巴士漫遊》系列等。
