作者簡介


黃競聰，長春社高級保育經理，香港史學會理事，香港歷史研究者，從事文化保育工作多年，專志香港史、風俗史和文化遺產保育及推廣等。著有《香港非物質文化遺產系列：香港潮人盂蘭勝會》、《城西溯古：西營盤歷變》、《簡明香港華人風俗史》、《拾遺城西：西營盤民間文獻與文物選錄》、《風俗通通識》，並有合著《大埔樟樹灘鄉武帝古廟協天宮志》、《香港非物質文化遺產系列：紮作技藝》、《道聽‧途說——香港邊境研究計劃》專輯、《承與創：榮基花牌的故事》、《西貢‧非遺傳承計劃》之「西貢漁歌」及「西貢麒麟舞」、《香港非遺便覽與實踐》、《蒲台島風物志》、《香港華人生活變遷》，曾主編《香港歷史與社會講座文集》、《風俗演義》，並發表多篇論文。

值得一提的是，書中大部分照片由著名攝影師蔡旭威先生 (John Choy) 慷慨借出，拍攝於禁區開放前後，捕捉了不一樣的打鼓嶺風光，呈現出一種如夢似幻的意象，這也是書名以「歷史虛幻」為題的主因。而背後則是十多年前，John Choy駕着車子帶上作者和另外一位香港地理學研究者千千走遍新界邊境每個角落，採風問俗、訪問鄉人的一段佳話，使得本書作者在研究打鼓嶺的路途上豈止不孤獨，更有「何其快哉」之慨，後更啟動香港邊境研究計劃。
