2012年6月27日，中國自行設計、自主集成研製的作業型載人潛水器“蛟龍”號成功下潛到7062米，可以在99.8%的海域開展深海調查，創造了同類作業型載人潛水器的世界紀錄。

本書作者曾跟隨“蛟龍”號遠赴太平洋，採訪了許多科學家、潛航員等海洋工作者。本書講述了“蛟龍”號這件深海利器怎麼誕生的故事，再現了中國載人潛水器探索地球“第四極”——深海的傳奇歷程。

作者簡介

許晨，山東德州人。中國作家協會會員，中國散文學會理事，中國報告文學學會理事，山東省作家協會副主席，青島市政協委員，青島市文聯一級作家。1989年7月畢業於解放軍藝術學院文學系，出版有《人生大舞臺》《血染的金達萊》《榮譽與責任》《第四極》等十幾部長篇報告文學。曾獲得第五屆冰心散文獎、第五屆全國海洋文學大賽特等獎、山東省第十屆精神文明建設“文藝精品工程”獎等多種獎項。近年來致力於海洋文學，曾隨同我國載人潛水器“蛟龍”號前往太平洋科學考察，為寫作《海底7000米：深海“蛟龍”號的故事》奠定了堅實的基礎。

編譯者簡介

【主編】李炳銀，陝西臨潼人，著名報告文學作家。1975年畢業於上海復旦大學中文系。1984年加入中國作家協會。著有《生活•文學與思考》《國學宗師——胡適》等。
