為本書作箋註者是中國當代詞學大師唐圭璋，他長期從事中國古代文學教學、詞籍整理及詞學研究工作，建樹良多。本書既稱「箋註」，則以「箋」為主，「註解」點到為止，「評箋」不厭其詳，引書至二百餘種，博收廣採，詮釋賞鑒，備述諸家評語，註明出處，置於各詞之後，是宋詞愛好者和研究者的必備參考。
