描寫該10年香港樂壇的起伏變化︰從英語歌退潮、粵語歌興起說起，至電視劇主題曲大熱，天皇巨星如羅文、張國榮、梅艷芳先後閃亮登場，樂隊風雲湧至，及至台灣歌曲在1980年代末再度侵佔香港巿場……。
以歌手為軸心，兼評當年一些意念突出的大碟︰如林子祥的《創作歌集》、陳百強的《傾訴》、林憶蓮的《都巿觸角》系列等。
旁及八十年代音樂工業的周邊情況︰如Walkman的盛行，演唱會場地的變化、唱片舖以至卡拉OK的興起和沒落等，全面地將該年代聽廣東歌的音樂氛圍描繪出來。

作者介紹


黃夏柏，生於澳門，在當地完成中學教育後，前往香港升學。大專畢業後，留居香港，曾任職電視台戲劇組編劇，後轉職報刊編採工作，先後擔任記者、編輯；近年亦曾從事環保網站編輯及地區可持續發展計劃的推廣工作。現職自由身記者，從事採訪及撰稿。曾出版作品：《澳門跳接》、《憶記戲院記憶》、《理想不再遙遠》、《看雜誌：1980s-1990s紀事》、《澳門戲院誌》、《光影戲遊》、《香港戲院搜記‧影畫爭鳴》及《香港戲院搜記‧歲月鈎沉》。
