《群書治要》是唐初著名諫臣魏徵及虞世南、褚亮、蕭德言等受命於唐太宗李世民，以輯錄前人著述作諫書。《治要》取材於經、史、諸子百家，以「務乎政術，存乎勸戒」為宗旨，勸勉帝皇要勤政愛民。本書從《群書治要》中抽取若干適合兒童閱讀的篇章，進行故事化，並對含教育意義的精華部分加以點評，再附以文言文原文，以期小讀者從中得到教益。



特點、定位：
本書最大特點為包裝框架異於以往。巿場上此類書籍多以品德教育為框架，本書則選取更現代化主題──「領導能力」──作為總領框架，系統性組織學習。
《群書治要》博而約，收錄了唐以前經史子集中富教育意義的歷史典故，唯其內容大多為經國濟世之道。而本書力圖配合選定框架，去蕪存菁，篩選掉無關題旨以及過於暴力的篇章，再自餘下數十篇中提煉出符合框架的現代元素。
坊間此類故事多以白話文方式解說，本書更附以原文，務求短而精，以期學有餘力的讀者能更好地掌握文言之美。
每則故事均加以簡短點評，以文字修飾，風格力求擺脫刻意說教，又能點出精要。
